Baby in House is an independent baby-product recommendation site. We don't accept payment for inclusion or ranking, and we don't sell placement. This page explains how we operate so you can decide whether to trust what we publish.
Independence
- No paid placements. We don't accept money, free product, or any other compensation in exchange for adding a product to the site, ranking it higher, or writing about it.
- Rankings aren't for sale. Where we list a "best" pick or order items in a roundup, the order reflects our editorial judgment, not commission rates.
- We may earn affiliate commissions when you click out and buy something, but those commissions don't change which products we recommend or how we order them. See How we make money for details.
What we don't accept
- Paid placements in any form.
- Sponsored rankings or paid order in lists.
- Payment for favorable reviews or rating increases.
- Payment to remove or downrank a competitor.
If any of the above is ever offered, we decline. If our policy on this ever changes, this page is where the change will be recorded.
How products get on the site
Products are added to our catalog only after the editor researches the category, reviews the manufacturer's documentation, considers publicly available owner feedback, and considers publicly available recall and safety information for the model. See How we choose products for the full process.
Updates and freshness
- Every product page shows a "price last verified" date.
- When we re-verify a product, we check the price, that the product is still available, and that the manufacturer's listing or our recommendation hasn't materially changed.
- If a product is recalled, discontinued, or substantively changed, we update or remove the recommendation.
Corrections policy
If you spot an error (wrong specification, outdated price, broken link, missing safety information), please email us using the address on our contact page. We review correction requests as quickly as possible and update verified errors when necessary. When a correction changes a recommendation, we note what changed and when on the page itself.
Affiliate disclosure
An FTC-compliant affiliate disclosure appears on every page that contains affiliate links. Full terms are on our Affiliate disclosure page.
What we don't do
- We don't run a physical lab or in-house product testing program.
- We don't claim certifications, medical credentials, or expertise we don't have.
- We don't publish reviews of products we haven't researched against this standard.
Change history
