What Baby in House is
Baby in House is an independent baby-product research and curation site. We don't run a lab, and we don't accept payment for inclusion or ranking. Each product on the site has been researched against a consistent process (specs, safety information, owner-review consensus, category comparison) and either makes the cut or doesn't.
Why it exists
Picking baby products is harder than it should be. Sales pages overpromise, ad-supported listicles cycle the same names, and parents end up cross-referencing Amazon reviews on their phones at 11pm. Baby in House is a small, honest version of the resource we wanted ourselves: a clearly explained shortlist, the why behind each pick, and links to where you can actually buy it.
Who edits it
Baby in House is edited by its founder. A full editor profile is being prepared.
When that profile is ready, this section will include a real name, a real background, and a contactable byline. Until then, all editorial decisions are made by one person, and any factual error is theirs to fix. Email corrections via our contact page.
How products are researched
The process is the same for every product:
- Read the manufacturer's spec sheet and product page.
- Check publicly available safety information and recall data for the model.
- Aggregate verified owner reviews from major retailers and manufacturer websites.
- Compare against alternatives in the category.
- Either write the page and assign an Editorial Rating, or skip the product.
The full process is documented in How we choose products. The rating method is described in How we rate products.
What this site does not do
- No in-house lab testing. We don't run controlled tests, take measurements, or score products against a rig.
- No medical, pediatric, or safety credentials. Where safety or medical questions matter, the right resource is a pediatrician or current public-safety guidance, not us.
- No paid placements. No brand has ever paid for inclusion or ranking. If that ever changes, our Editorial Standards page is where the change will be recorded.
- No fabricated social proof. If you ever see a number on this site (subscribers, customers, reviews), it's either measured or removed.
How the site makes money
Affiliate commissions on the products we recommend. You don't pay anything extra; the commission comes out of the retailer's margin. We're partners with Amazon Associates and Awin, and our editorial picks are decided before any commission rate is considered. The full breakdown is in How we make money, and the formal language is in our Affiliate disclosure.
